Four times a year, the “Multitudes” series invites cohorts composed of up to 10 writers and artists to creatively re-interpret the same object. Finished objects are available for sale on the Container website, with proceeds split equally between Container and the creator.

Multitudes #1: Rolodex
Participants transformed a 500-card capacity Rolodex Open Rotary Card File into a work of literary or visual art. Participating artists include Barbara Balfour, Lillian-Yvonne Bertram, Evan Kleekamp, Michael Leong, James W. Moore, Collier Nogues, M. NourbeSe Philip and Ryo Yamaguchi.
Multitudes #2: Vintage Metal Lunchbox
Participants are transforming vintage metal lunchboxes from the 1960s-1980s into a work of literary or visual art. Participating artists include CA Conrad, Johnny Damm, Natasha Mijares, Jennifer O’Grady, Anne Marie Rooney, Rebecca Siegel and Patrick Williams.
